No "window shopping tour" of New York would be complete without a long look at the rotating exhibits behind the walls of glass at Saks, one of New York's most famous and most enduring department stores. Opened in 1924 and facing Rockefeller Center, shopping at Saks is a "de rigeuer" New York experience; its newly-minted restaurant, L'Avenue, is a great place to take a break from all that retail therapy.
